กมส์ Call Of Duty : Black Ops ถือว่าเป็นภาคที่ 7 ของซีรี่ย์นี้ซึ่งถูกพัฒนาโดย Treyarch ตัวเกมส์จะพาเราเข้าไปในกลางสงครามเย็น ต้องเดินทางผ่านประเทศคิวบาข้ามมหาสมุทรมายังเวียดนามนี่เอง ตัวเกมส์เพิ่มระดับกราฟิคจนจะเทียบเท่าภาค Modern Warfare 2 แต่ก็ยังคงความเป็น FPS ไว้อยู่ ภารกิจในเกม Call Of Duty: Black Ops ก็คือภารกิจของหน่วยรบ Black Ops ที่ต้องปฏิบัติการรบเสี่ยงตายแทรกซึมเข้าไปในที่มั่นของศัตรู ส่วน เรื่องระบบการเล่นภาคนี้จะมีอาวุธใหม่บางชนิดเพิ่มเข ้ามาเช่นธนูแบบหน้าไม้ ที่ติดตั้งหัวระเบิดไว้ที่ลูกธนู ซึ่งธนูหน้าไม้จะช่วยเรื่องเก็บเสียงไม่ให้ศัตรูรู้ว ่ายิงมาจากที่ไหน และก็ยังมีลูกกระสุนลูกซองแบบ Dragon's Breath ที่เวลายิงจะมีไฟลุกด้วย ในระยะประมาณ 5 เมตรจากปากกระบอกปืน นอกจากอาวุธแล้วก็จะมีพาหนะต่างๆให้ผู้เล่นใช้ในการร บด้วย อย่างเครื่องบินหรือเฮลิคอปเตอร์ แน่นอนว่าในโหมด Multiplayer เวลาเล่นออนไลน์ก็จะมียานพาหนะให้ใช้เช่นกันในภาคนี้ และสุดท้ายสำหรับระบบ Perk และ killstreaks ในภาคนี้จะไม่มีการให้รางวัลผู้ที่ฆ่าต่อเนื่องแล้ว แต่จะนับจำนวนที่ฆ่าต่อเนื่องได้ และให้รางวัลหลังจากผู้เล่นถูกฆ่าตาย หรือให้ตอนจบเกมแทน
